  ‭These people don’t care about animals, all they want is money.
  
  My dog was dying on Monday night and Barn Lodge was my normal vet’s out-of-hours provider. Called their number, and got a recorded message saying to call their out-of-hours vet at X number or nurse at X number - both 07, so I naturally assumed it would come out of my minutes. Called one of the numbers, left my message with the operator (twice) and spoke to someone after my dog had died. The salt on the wound is finding out now that I’ve been charged 48p per call (or maybe even per minute!?) when this was in no way advertised.
  
  Spoke to staff when I discovered this, and they had no sympathy or remorse in what is frankly a sly tactic. “We didn’t say it would be free.” If it’s going to cost me, just let me know in advance. Many other vets don’t charge for OOH advice, but those are the ones that care.
  
  Avoid or it’ll cost you more than you know.
